The environmental activist group is a polarising subject in the UK, receiving support and criticism for how they channel civil resistance in the name of climate change.

Their overall aim is for the British government to commit to halting new fossil fuel licensing and production.

The group was founded in February 2022 and began protesting at English oil terminals in April 2022.

Earlier today Just Stop Oil supporters were pushed off the road by angry members of the public during a slow march through central London.

In footage shared online, four activists from the group are seen slowly walking down Pall Mall when they are then confronted by two men.

This is not the first time the public has responded in such a manner.

Members of the group have been protesting prominently for the last six weeks.

Most notably, they have disrupted events such as the Chelsea Flower Show, the Gallagher Premiership final, the World Snooker Championship, and walked in front of the England cricket team bus on its way to Lord’s last week.

There have been so far 2,200 arrests with two supporters serving three-year prison sentences.

Where will Just Stop Oil protest next?

Taking a look at their official website, the group plan seemingly plans to protest every Saturday at Parliament Square, London, from 12 pm onwards.

They also have a big event planned in the calendar although the location has not been yet confirmed.

The post reads: “National Emergency: Jeremy Corbyn, Chris Packham, Chantelle Lunt, Lee Jasper, Professor Bill McGuire and Zoe Cohen speak about 40℃ in the UK.

“Tuesday, August 2, 7 pm”.
