It’s been on my list of places I wanted to go since moving, and I’d only heard great things about the array of restaurants and bars that are housed there.

Much to my excitement, I went to Oblix West one Sunday to try the new brunch menu.

Ilford Recorder:

There’s both Oblix East and Oblix West – with the East restaurant featuring a bar drinks and snacks menu, an afternoon tea option and a three-course meal menu.

The West side prides itself on its views across the whole of West London, with food made in an open kitchen.

Ilford Recorder:

The setting was absolutely stunning, and I was mesmerised by both the views from the windows and also how incredible the restaurant was.

There are three brunch options – including classic which is starters, a main per person and a dessert platter for the table, bottomless which is paired with bottomless prosecco, wines and soft drinks, and the limitless champagne option.

Each table gets all of the starter options, which I’m quite glad about because before I realised this I was really struggling to choose one out of a really great selection.

The starters included freshly baked sourdough, market salad, burrata, tuna tartare, prawn cocktail and smoked salmon.

Ilford Recorder:

This genuinely would have been enough in itself for lunch, and every single dish was absolutely divine.

I think my favourites were the tuna tartare and the market salad, but all of them were really fresh, generous in portion-size and had really complementing flavours.

Next was main course and my boyfriend chose the lobster and crab benedict, while I had the whole dover sole.

Ilford Recorder:

I can hands-down say this was the best piece of fish I’ve ever had. It was moist, tasty, huge, and the perfect balance between being fishy and not too much.

We shared some mashed potato and broccoli which were equally as scrumptious.

I was absolutely stuffed but I could not get enough of the food, the views and the vibes.

I ordered the born a star cocktail, which was basically like a passionfruit martini, and it came in a box shaped like The Shard with smoke coming out.

Ilford Recorder:

It really brought the wow-factor to what was already a special brunch.

The dessert platter had macaroons and a couple of cakes on, which although we were convinced we wouldn’t do, we had a good amount of it despite having eaten enough for an army.

They were, as expected, really good desserts and I have never felt so satisfied from a lunch in my life.

I couldn’t recommend it enough – the food was incredible, the setting was incredible, and to eat lunch looking over the whole of West London is something that will be hard to beat
