A micropub in Brentwood has been given permission to expand its premises and opening hours.
Mason Nathaniel, who has run The Peasants’ Revolt in Kings Road since it opened in December 2021, can now expand into the empty adjoining premises.
The venue has also been permitted by Brentwood Council to open until 11.30pm on Sundays to Wednesdays and midnight on Thursdays to Saturdays.

But council officers have said noise from the micropub must not impact residents living in surrounding residential properties. Mr Nathaniel has agreed a noise management policy.
Chris Breen, environmental officer, told a licensing committee meeting on August 8: “We felt that the conditions that were submitted would be proportionate to the risk of the premises with the increased footfall and a larger surface area for clientele to enjoy.
“In adding a condition on a noise limit to be agreed by environmental health we’ll be able to visit Mr Nathaniel and work with him to agree a noise level that will be stuck to to ensure that the noise doesn’t become a problem for other premises.”
Mr Nathaniel said he opened the micropub to provide “a new characterful place for existing locals and young professionals drawn to the area by the new Elizabeth line to enjoy”.
