The Holmes Hotel is a gorgeous hotel close to Baker Street, with a restaurant, room service offering, and different rooms to suit different stays.
It prides itself on being a “home away from home” and I was lucky enough to try the Townhouse Loft Suite, a room spanning itself over two floors with two bathrooms, a living and dining area, bath with TV over it, and huge luxurious bed.
The suite also had a rainfall shower and record player as well, just to add to the excitement.

It feels like a taste of luxury in the heart of London with a real escape from the hustle and bustle going on outside.
As well as a gym and sauna, the hotel has multiple luxury communal areas where you can relax.
And, this is in addition to a stunning up-market restaurant and bar – The Kitchen at the Holmes.
It has a huge bar area for relaxing and then a big restaurant area too for food.
I checked in at the hotel at around 6pm, left my stuff and then walked around 10 minutes to Oxford Street to do some shopping.
It’s so conveniently located, but just slightly out of the real busyness which was perfect for me.
I came back and had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, and as I expected the food was absolutely delicious.
There’s a really wide-ranging menu, with nibbles, small plates, main courses and desserts, as well as a huge cocktail and wine list too.
My boyfriend and I shared the padron peppers and Jerusalem pita and tahini to nibble on, before I had the tuna tartare and he had the beef carpaccio to start.
The pita was warm and fluffy and the tuna came with a burrata on top which I’d never had before.
My usual dilemma is whether to get a burrata starter or a fish starter, so it was great to be able to combine the two.
To drink I chose the K T Time cocktail which is made of Beefeater gin, St Germain, plum bitters, hibiscus syrup, cranberry and lime juice.
It was an aesthetic spectacular and came in a jug to pour into a huge martini-like glass, and I stuck with those all evening.
For mains my boyfriend and I shared the whole grilled sea bass which was absolutely delicious – it was fresh, cooked to perfection, and melt-in-the-mouth which is how I like my fish to be.
We shared some sweet potato, zucchini and broccoli on the side and it’s safe to say by the end we had full stomachs, full hearts and tipsy heads.
Breakfast is served in the same restaurant, but you can also order breakfast to your room which is separate to the hotel’s room service offering.
We ordered to the room in the morning, and I had eggs and avocado, and my boyfriend had eggs and smoked salmon.
This was in addition to a pastry and fruit salad, along with hot drinks and fruit juices.
We ate breakfast at the dining area in our hotel room, in the cosy dressing gowns provided.
Check out was at 12pm which was lovely as usually hotels throw you out much earlier, so we were able to have a relaxing morning in the suite.
We went back into the liveliness of London afterwards for some more shopping, but it really did feel like we’d had a holiday away from home for the night, and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
