2 Corner, Tate Modern

3 Arcade Battersea

Battersea Power Station’s impressive food hall has opened, with a stack of dining options. The second Arcade Food Hall in London, this one boasts brands exclusive to the power station – Flat Bread by Thomas Straker, Hong Kong-inspired Cantonese comfort food Siu Siu and Issan-style Thai joint Phed Power – alongside traders including Tipan Tapan, Shatta & Toum and Hero.

4 The Table, Battersea Rise

The Southwark brunch spot will open its second location this month, bringing its all-day brunching into the depths of south west London. Full English, full vegans, Benedict, Florentine and Royale; all the eggy breakfast classics are represented here, as are waffle and pancake stacks and streaky bacon treats.

5 Elodie at Birch (Selsdon)

The second Birch community, this one located in Selsdon, Croydon, opens this month with Elodie as its flagship restaurant, open to anyone whether you’re staying at the hotel or not. Helmed by the award-winning and Michelin starred chef Lee Westcott, Elodie takes its ques from the ‘lifestyle’ hotel’s vast rewilding project to serve up tasting menus (veg, vegan and dietary requirement menus available on request) made of seasonal and foraged produce, as well as from stuff grown on the hotel’s expansive grounds. The restaurant’s design also makes use of Birch’s bucolic setting, which draws panoramic views of the grounds into the Victorian-style dining room.

6 Bar Nana, Seven Dials

A new take on how to use an old banana warehouse, the recently opened Bar Nana serves up fresh juices and cocktails, if you’re lucky in a banana contraption. The venue comes with the activity you’ve always wanted, a ride on banana, as well as seriously fruity beverages – the Pina Tale (pineapple, green grape, white wine and rum), a Seven Dials Sour (hibiscus, strawberry, pink lady apple and gin), and the Karma Colada which is coconut, pineapple, banana and rum.

7 Bancone, Borough Yards

The Bib Gourmand pasta joint will launch its third site in Borough Yards this August, serving many of the tried and tested favourites including signature dish silk handkerchiefs – thin cuts of pasta covered in confit egg yolk and walnut butter. Alongside the compact but considered pasta menu, there is an equally well-thought out selection of antipasti, such as burrata, tomato, basil and crispy fregola; and lardo on toast with truffled honey. The restaurant is currently taking bookings from Tuesday, August 1.
