Ruel Sotiriou cancelled out Low’s first effort – breaking O’s duck for the campaign – but Dan Happe was sent off early in the second half and Low made the 10 men pay with his second, before Dale Taylor added a third for Wycombe.

And a second Sotiriou effort was in vain,

Richie Wellens made two changes to his starting line-up from Saturday’s 4-0 home defeat against Portsmouth, with Ed Turns and Tom James named in the XI at Adams Park.

But new loan signing Shaq Forde, initially named among the substitutes, was replaced on the bench before kick-off by Harrison Sodje.

The visitors made a bright start, with Theo Archibald seeing a shot blocked behind for a corner, before Killian Phillips blazed over for the hosts.

Wycombe took the lead on 15 minutes when Low headed in at the far post, with Luke Leahy sending a quick free-kick wide of the target soon after.

Jordan Brown had an effort from the edge of the box held by Max Stryjek, before Howes made a vital save to deny Phillips on 24 minutes.

And Moncur had a shot deflected through to Stryjek after combining with Idris El Mizouni before Sotiriou opened the O’s account for the season on 34 minutes, timing his run to the far post and finishing well.

Brown had a shot deflected into the arms of Stryjek before picking up a yellow card as the first half ended all square.

But O’s were reduced to 10 men just five minutes into the second half when Happe was dismissed for a professional foul outside the penalty area, with Leahy firing the subsequent free-kick over the crossbar.

Howes made a fantastic save to keep O’s on terms, with Omar Beckles clearing the danger, and O’s broke upfield as Sotiriou and George Moncur both forced Stryjek into action.

And the visitors were angered when Howes appeared to be caught late by Leahy, who avoided punishment.

Another O’s break ended with El Mizouni unable to find Sotiriou at the far post just before the hour, with Joe Pigott making way for Rob Hunt in the first change of the night.

Archibald produced a burst on the wing and superb delivery into the box, but could not find a teammate, and Wycombe regained the lead on 67 minutes courtesy of Low’s second goal of the night.

Stryjek got a hand to a stunning Archibald effort which looked set for the top corner on 71 minutes, with Moncur making way for Jordan Graham in the second O’s change of the night.

And the visitors went close to levelling on 80 minutes when Tom James saw his shot from the edge of the box hit a post, with Stryjek booked for time wasting.

As it was, Wycombe went up the other end and made it 3-1 through Taylor, only for Sotiriou to reply almost immediately to give the visitors late hope heading into 10 minutes of injury time.

Graham’s cross was just too high for Beckles in the third extra minute, while El Mizouni shot wide from a tight angle in the ninth minute.

Leyton Orient: Howes, James, Turns, Happe, Brown (Galbraith 78), Pigott (Hunt 60), Sotiriou, Archibald, Moncur (Graham 75), El Mizouni, Beckles. Unused subs: Byrne, Sodje, Obiero, Pegrum.

Attendance: 4,794.
