A post office is set to close its doors for building work.

Victoria Road post office in Romford will shut from August 21 until September 7, a Post Office spokesperson said.

This is for building work to happen, said Mo Islam, network provision lead for the Post Office, in a letter to customers.

“The safety of our customers is of paramount importance to us, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place it will be necessary for the service to close,” Mr Islam said.

The works will take about two and a half weeks.

Alternative interim branches are Romford Post Office in The Liberty shopping centre and Brentwood Post Office in Brentwood Road.

“We would like to apologise for the inconvenience the temporary closure may cause,” Mr Islam added.
