Dan Spinks said accepting the manager’s position at Romford on a permanent basis was a ‘no-brainer’.

Spinks took over when Steve Butterworth left last season and now gets the chance to lead Boro into the new Essex Senior League season.

And the club have also confirmed Scott Doe and Mike Hart as part of the management team moving forward.

“I would like to thank Steve [Gardener], Colin [Ewensno and the board at the club, I am grateful for the opportunity they have given me to take over as manager at Romford FC. With such a long history I look forward to being part of the journey ahead,” said Spinks.

“I sincerely appreciate their trust in me – accepting the post was a no-brainer. I came in towards the end of last season, I thought it went well under the circumstances. The cup runs were fantastic and had a knock-on effect with our league form.

“We finished the season top of the form table, kept the bulk of the squad with a few new additions. This should stand us in good stead moving forward.

“I’m pleased to say Mike and Scott have agreed to be part of my coaching staff. They both bring a wealth of knowledge in the game, alongside our physiotherapist Victoria Omadeli. I thank them for their alliance and assistance.

“I look forward to working with them and with the boys for a memorable season to be enjoyed by all at the club and most of all our supporters.”

Doe, 34, played in the Football League for six seasons with Dagenham & Redbridge and is looking to use his experience as much as possible to help Boro achieve their aims.

“I’d like to say thanks to Dan for asking me to be his assistant towards the back end of last season,” said Doe.

“He has done a great job and I know he’s been working hard this summer to add to the already very good squad and of course to Steve and Colin and all the board for giving me this opportunity to carry on this role for the coming season.

“Having been part of this club before in previous years I know what it means to everyone associated with the club especially the fans to see exciting football and everyone giving their all on the pitch.

“I will very much still be playing this coming season and enjoy using my experience in the game to help everyone on and off the pitch.

“With me playing Mike has been a great addition to the club helping Dan with the team and on the sidelines and all three of us will be looking to carry on from where we left off last season and ultimately challenge at the top of end of the table.”

Hart was also grateful for the chance to take on a permanent position, adding: “I’d like to express my gratitude to Dan for inviting me to join the management team during the last 12 games of the previous season.

“We made significant progress, achieved good results, and successfully integrated youth and experienced players into the team, providing us with a solid foundation to build upon.

“Given these positive developments, I eagerly accepted Dan’s invitation to continue for the current season. Our objective is to compete for promotion and I firmly believe with our talented squad and style of play we plan to implement, we can accomplish this.

Drawing from my past experiences playing non-league football, I aim to contribute all I can for this club and hope the Boro faithful join us on this journey.

“I’d like to express my appreciation to Steve and Colin for warmly welcoming me to the club. With Dan’s strong leadership as manager and Scott Doe’s invaluable experience on and off the pitch, I’m confident we can reciprocate their kindness by bringing success to the club.”
