The Burnt City, an epic immersive visual theatre production enters its final eight weeks, bringing the production which set up home in One Cartridge Place in March 2022 to a close.
Scheduled to wrap on September 24, 2023, the large-scale production has sold more than 200,000 tickets to date and by the time it closes, it will be the longest running mask show Punchdrunk has presented in London.
Directed by Felix Barrett, who alongside Bowie, Steve McQueen and Vivienne Westwood has been named as one of the50 most influential artists of the last 50 years by Sky Arts (2022) is a vast promenade theatre show that retells the end of the Trojan war set in the neon-drenched backstreets of downtown Troy, and Greece and played out across two huge warehouse buildings that were part of the old Woolwich Arsenal.
These building will go on to become Punchdrunk’s first permanent London home in London once The Burnt City has finished.
Before the production finishes, Punchdrunk will bring back The Burnt City Remix on Sunday, August 13. The remix is the usual mind-blowing show but with a little bit of party added on. It invites audience members to immerse themselves in end-of-the-world revelry with live music, guest bands, DJs and performance as an extra bonus.
