Dagenham & Redbridge ensured back-to-back Bank Holiday weekend wins in the National League with success over Wealdstone, who suffered a second defeat in three days.

Daggers boss Ben Strevens named an unchanged side from Saturday’s 1-0 win over Barnet, while Stuart Maynard made two changes to his Stones line-up, after a 3-1 loss at Aldershot, with Nathan Ferguson and Sam Bowen coming in for starts.

Dom Hutchinson was added to the Stones bench in place of Tarryn Allarakhia in a late change, with Bowen seeing a curling effort deflected just wide on six minutes.

Micah Obiero had another attempt blocked, before Ferguson forced a good save from Elliot Justham midway through the half.

But Daggers came into the game more and went close just before the break when a loose back pass played in Myles Weston, who was thwarted by Jed Ward.

And the visitors opened the scoring three minutes into the second half when Nik Tavares found Ryan Hill on the right and he beat Ward.

Tavares then produced a last-ditch tackle to deny Obiero a clear shot at goal on 57 minutes, before Frank Vincent won possession and played a through ball for Charley Kendall, who chipped just over.

Both sides made a change on the hour as Wealdstone’s Sean Adarkwa replaced Ashley Charles and Daggers Josh Rees came on for Elliott Johnson.

Wealdstone’s Jack Cook was shown the first yellow card of the game on 72 minutes, with Ferguson making way for Olufela Olomola as Daggers replaced Hill with Sydney Ibie.

And Daggers doubled their advantage with six minutes of normal time remaining courtesy of Omar Mussa.

Stones went close to a reply in the fourth of six minutes of injury time when Olomola hit a post from the edge of the box, but Daggers held on to record a second successive clean sheet and victory.
