Officers of Met Police were called at around 4:30pm on Monday (August 7) to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry in Goodmayes Road.

London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade also attended the site of the incident.

The man, 45, was rushed to a hospital where he later died. His next of kin have been informed by the police.

The lorry driver was believed to have stopped at the scene, but no arrests have been made so far.

Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and road closures remain in place.

Officers have urged anyone with information or dash cam footage around the time to call the police on 101 citing reference CAD 5180/7Aug.
