The user, london_xploring shared that they went hunting after rumours that designer stores in central London throw away unused merchandise.

With recent trends on the social media platform TikTok seeing hundreds of Americans dumpster dive finding boxes upon boxes of unused and perfectly fine items.

However, it seems hunting through bins in the UK is not as rewarding as across the pond.

London Instagram user dumpster dives for designer brands

London_xploring posted a video of their adventure on Instagram as they ventured around Central London sharing that it “didn’t look very promising.”

The group headed towards Dior Head Office hoping that they “would have some good stuff” but only found empty boxes and bags of rubbish.

Searching most of New Bond Street they shared that they “found nothing but disappointment and has some pretty disgusting fails.”

But the Instagram user did not go home empty-handed as they “managed to get a travel case and a stuffed toy.”

Summing up their adventure, they didn’t recommend having a go at dumpster diving but as it seems most stores keep their rubbish underground.

However, they did share that they were “Open to tips if anyone works or has worked in luxury stores for loot- willing to try again with more reliable information.”

Followers of London_xploring had mixed reactions to the Londoner’s adventure as one said: “This really was not a very good idea.”

Whilst another added: “Y’all were expecting to find a Birkin bag in the dumpster.”

But others had higher hopes for the adventure: “I was really hoping for a happy ending.”
