The hosts opened the scoring early in the second half, but Joe Pigott opened his O’s account to level soon after.
And Sotiriou popped up to clinch all three points and ensure a happy trip back from Devon.
Theo Archibald saw an early cross turned away at the far post for a corner, with Omar Beckles heading agaist the crossbar from the resulting set-piece.
George Moncur won another corner for the visitors in a bright start, but Archibald’s volley was blocked by the home defence.
Sotiriou then put an effort just wide at the far post on 18 minutes, while Sol Brynn kept out Demetri Mitchell’s attempt for the Grecians at the expense of a corner moments later.
Tom James saw a free-kick turned away by Woods for a corner at the other end on 28 minutes, with Idris El Mizouni then seeing a shot deflected behind and George Moncur firing just over from the edge of the box.
Brandon Cooper produced a vital bit of defending to take the ball away from Cox, then saw a header bounce off the crossbar at the other end on 37 minutes before Moncur had a shot blocked and deflected behind.
Mitchell sent a free-kick over Brynn’s crossbar before Archibald was booked during stoppage time.
But Mitchell broke the deadlock three minutes after the restart when firing a powerful volley past Brynn.
Beckles was denied the chance of an equaliser as an Exeter player got a timely toe on the ball.
But O’s were back on terms on 55 minutes as Pigott claimed his first goal for the club, bringing the ball down well and firing home.
Darren Pratley was booked for a mistimed tackle on the hour, with Pigott sending a downward header over the bar, before Cooper had a shot clawed away for a corner.
Moncur made way for Jordan Brown midway through the half, with James firing a free-kick over on 75 minutes.
But Mitchell headed inches wide for the hosts, before Sweeney got something on Pigott’s cross to prevent the ball reaching Archibald at the far post.
Ethan Galbraith and Rob Hunt replaced Jordan Graham and Cooper five minutes from time, with Galbraith having an effort blocked and Hunt on the receiving end of a bad tackle that led to a booking for Borges.
And O’s struck in the first minute of injury time as Sotiriou fired into the bottom corner from outside the area to send the travelling supporters wild.
