Hornchurch, meanwhile, came from two goals down to snatch a last-gasp draw and a replay with National League South side Aveley, but Haringey Borough bowed out after defeat at Dover Athletic.

Alfie Cerulli’s 57th-minute effort proved enough for Gary McCann’s Billericay to claim a superb 1-0 win against National League South Saints in front of a crowd of 869 at New Lodge.

And Enfield Town took a third-minute lead at Halesowen through James Richmond, before Jack Holmes hit back for the home side on 18 minutes.

Marcus Wyllie maintained his fine goalscoring form with Enfield Town’s second towards the end of the first half and it proved decisive for Gavin Macpherson’s outfit.

Hornchurch had a score to settle with near neighbours Aveley, having lost the Isthmian League play-off final to them last season.

But Steve Morison – having made nine changes to the side that beat Dulwich Hamlet in midweek, with two debutants – saw them 2-0 down after 36 minutes, after Jon Benton and Jalen Jones struck for the Millers.

However, leading scorer Liam Nash hit back on the hour to halve the deficit and give the visitors hope and Tommie Hoban headed a 93rd-minute equaliser from a George Saunders cross to extend Hornchurch’s unbeaten start to this season to 11 matches in all competitions.

The two sides will meet again at Bridge Avenue on Tuesday, after the draw for the next round is made on Monday afternoon.

League rivals Haringey were hoping to cause an upset of their own after Khalifa Jabbie put them ahead at the Crabble.

But Zidan Sutherland replied for Dover midway through the second half and struck again on 80 minutes to send Tom Loizou’s men out of the competition.
