Volunteers at Childline are urging youngsters feeling stressed about their exam results to get in touch and not worry in silence.

The London and South East Childline, which operates from Shoreditch, is available 24/7 both online and over the phone.

“It’s important that young people talk to someone if they’re feeling anxious about their results,” Childline’s service head Kieran Lyons said.

“There are trusted adults that they can turn to for support. Childline is available whenever they need it. Our counsellors are here day and night, on the phone or online.”

Childline is run by the NSPCC and is available to pupils who may not get the results they need and might be dealing with pressures of family expectations. Its trained counsellors offer advice to cope with anxiety about how they feel.

Childline is available by phone on 0800-1111 or online at childline.org.uk with message boards and 1-2-1 chat.
