National Rail said that due to the incident at Forest Gate earlier today (November 8), trains between Stratford and Romford may be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

Tickets, it said, will be accepted on alternative routes on Greater Anglia, c2c, London Overground and Underground and on London buses.

Disruption is expected to be in place until 12pm and the lines have since re-opened.

It advised customers to check their route before travelling and said they may be entitled to compensation if delays are experienced in completing the journey today.

“Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.”, it said on the website: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service-disruptions/forest-gate-20231108/

Transport for London said passengers should expect minor delays between Whitechapel and Shenfield as a result of the incident.
