There are severe delays on Elizabeth Line and Greater Anglia services while emergency services deal with a “casualty” on the track.

The incident was first reported at about 10am this morning (May 29), after a “person was hit by a train” between Romford and Shenfield.

TfL has said that there was a “casualty on the track”.

This has caused severe delays on services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield via Stratford, with the Elizabeth Line shut between Gidea Park and Shenfield.

National Rail said that disruption is expected until 12.30pm while emergency services attend the scene.

Greater Anglia warned that services may be cancelled, altered or delayed at short notice while the response team deal with this incident.

It added that Greater Anglia tickets would be accepted on C2C services between Fenchurch Street and Southend Central.

The British Transport Police and ambulance service have been contacted for more information.
