A shop front has been left smashed after a break-in attempt.

The Co-op store in Station Parade, Elm Park was reportedly targeted by burglars this morning between 3.20 and 3.32am. Elm Park Police said that the suspects were not able to steal anything but “damaged (the) front of the shop”.

Images shared on social media by people passing-by showed a police cordon outside the store.

She added: “The road is shut off. So, the car park near the station parade which is where my business is situated is shut off. The only way people can get in is by foot.

“They can’t drive down the station parade to come into the shop. Obviously, it’s going to affect my business today.”

Police have urged anyone with information to contact them by dialling 101 citing 5409991/23.
