A mural showing how children think we can help save the planet has been unveiled at Romford’s Liberty shopping centre as a lasting memory of the coronation.
The idea was brought to life with a competition, with winning entries given to professional artists who used graphic designs to represent nature and the environment — with a nod to the coronation.
“It’s no secret that King Charles is passionate about saving the planet,” Liberty’s marketing manager Adrian Racaru said. “So we commissioned artwork for the coronation long after the celebrations.”
The mural greeting shoppers coming in from the multi-storey car park was designed by pupils from St Peter’s Primary School using their imaginations to create images.
“We had lots of brilliant entries and selected the top 10 designs,” Adrian explained. “Professional artists then transformed them into a colourful masterpiece, keeping the original childlike charm.”
The 10 young winners got £20 gift cards, plus certificates for all the pupils who took part.
