The 20-year-old super-featherweight prospect comfortably took care of West Midlander Jahfieus Faure throughout the four rounds to register a 40-36 points shut out on referee Mark Bates’ scorecard.
Adams began boxing at the tender age of five at White Hart Lane Boxing Academy in Wood Green before moving on to Dagenham ABC where he won four national elite under-56kg titles.
Faure, 37, proved to be a tough but durable opponent for Adams having been taken the distance in all of his 18 previous bouts, despite winning only two of them.
And Adams, who is promoted by Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, was satisfied to begin his paid career with a tough assignment.
“You’ve only got one debut as they always say,” Adams told Queensberry Promotions.
“I tried to make the most of it. I had a tough opponent. Someone who was going to last, someone who was going to throw shots and test me, that’s what I wanted. Overall it was good.
“I just want to thank Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions for having and signing me and I’m looking forward to the journey.
“I want to climb the ladder as quickly as I can. As the opposition gets better, I’m going to be better. I would have jumped at the next level but I can adapt, I’m clever so all in due time you’ll see that.”
Upminster’s Adams is planning to keep busy in 2024 as he looks to be matched with more tough grafters in the domestic super-featherweight division.
“I want to be out five/six times a year and I want to keep boxing, boxing,” Adams added.
“And the more times I box I’ll be more complete, I’ll be better, I’ll get used to the pro game so I’m just trying to climb that ladder. I’m buzzing that my debut is done and I just want to build from it.”
