It is the last chance to see the amazing wonder for 14 years, until 2037. The Blue Moon is the second supermoon in August.
At the start of the month, the Sturgeon moon wowed people and now stargazers get a second chance to see another supermoon on Thursday, August 31.
The Blue Moon will peak in the night sky at around 2.35 am on Thursday in the UK.
How to see the Blue Moon in London
The Blue Moon will be 222,043 miles away from Earth, making it appear much bigger and brighter in the sky.
When the moon is at its further point from Earth at a distance of 252,088 miles, it looks much smaller.
If you want to catch a glimpse of the Blue Moon, all you need to do is head outside and look up.
As the Royal Museums Greenwich advises: “So long as there’s not too much cloud, the full Moon will be an unmistakable white orb in the sky.
“This is a good opportunity to use a small telescope or a pair of binoculars to see the Moon’s detailed surface, or even try taking a few interesting moon photos.”
Rare super blue moon will appear over the UK
But if you don’t have binoculars, no need to worry as you should be able to see the Moon just fine with your eyes, as The Museums adds: “Seeing moonrise just after sunset or moonset just before sunrise will be an impressive sight as it will appear enormous compared to the surrounding landscape.”
There will also be a treat for stargazers next month when Neptune is at its most visible.
It will be brighter than any other time of the year and will be visible all night long on September 19.
Due to its extreme distance from Earth, it will only appear as a tiny blue dot in all but the most powerful telescopes.
