The Berwick Manor Hotel in Berwick Pond Road, Rainham, will undergo a change of use to be replaced by eight terraced homes and a five-bed house, if plans from developer Shobna Properties are granted.
Under plans, the adjacent coach house would be demolished.
Havering Council received the application – reference P1005.23 – on June 23 and validated it on August 24 this year.
Berwick Manor is a grade II-listed building just over a mile from Rainham.
In September 1999, the premises were extensively damaged by fire to the extent that there were only two main walls remaining, according to a design and access statement.
The statement, from Divine Ideas architects, said the proposal would not harm the visual amenities of the green belt and the surrounding area.
Berwick Manor was also used as a country club and subsequently a nightclub from 1967 until 1999.
The council has set a decision date of October 19.
