A security worker appeared in court after he took a knife disguised as a credit card into a nightclub in Romford. 

James Kiely, of Perth Road in Barking, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on May 31 where he pleaded guilty to possession of a blade in a public place. 

The 19-year-old was charged after he was caught in possession of a ‘credit card knife’ at ATIK on April 29, 2022. 

Magistrates who heard the case gave Kiely a three month prison sentence, suspended for one year. 

He was also ordered to pay £154 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
