Arrests have been made following a crime crackdown in Harold Hill.

The street duties team made eight searches on its first day (May 25), and recovered a knife, a stolen vehicle with fake number plates and a small amount of drugs.

Police said the work was part of an effort to tackle vehicle crime and burglary in the area.

The operation was planned by the Harold Hill Neighbourhood Team and Havering Joint Taskforce.

Sgt Richard Ruane said: “The day was a success and we achieved some great results in our tackle to drive down vehicle crime and burglary in Harold Hill.

“We will continue to use these tactics to disrupt offenders on our streets of Havering,” he added.
