The crash, first reported by the AA at 8.19am today (September 4), was a “damage-only collision” according the Met Police, but continues to cause delays.

Police were able to clear the road at 1.44pm, a police spokesperson confirmed, but traffic is still slow.

AS IT HAPPENED: Two car collision on A13 causes lane closure

Lane one, of two, remains closed on the slip road from River Road, according to the AA.

Delays were increasing on the A13 Alfreds Way eastbound between the A117 Beckton Flyover and A13 Lodge Avenue Flyover earlier today.

Congestion stretched along Alfreds Way, going back as far as Beckon Roundabout.

On the A13 towards Dagenham, delays of seven minutes have been reported and are increasing on Ripple Road eastbound.

The average speed is 15 miles per hour, according to the AA.
