An adult and two children were rushed to hospital following a crash on A12 in Leyton early morning.

Officers of Met Police were called shortly before 1:50am today to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on the A12 near Langthorne Road Bridge.

London’s Ambulance Service deployed four ambulance crews, an incident response officer, a medic in a fast response car and members of hazardous area response team to the scene.

A trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, consisting of a paramedic and a doctor in a car, also attended the incident.

The medics treated one adult and two children on site before taking them to a major trauma centre. One of the victims is believed to be aged 10.

A spokesperson for Met Police said that the driver of one of the vehicles, a 24-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drunk driving.

He was also taken to a local hospital after being treated by emergency services.

The condition of the victims and the arrested man is yet unknown. Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

Officers have urged witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to call the police on 101 quoting 462/04AUG23.
