Tequila Town London: August bank holiday things to

If you like tacos and tequila, then put this south London festival on your list of August bank holiday things to do.

Returning after a sold out first season last year, Peckham’s Copeland Gallery’s Tequila Town is full of tequilas, mezcals and tacos.

Running across three days, from Friday, August 25 to Sunday, August 27, the agave-based booze fest showcases more than 20 independent makers of the stuff.

Taste drinks made with London-based brand Tiempo tequila, the blue-agave based El Rayo, Forbes’ world’s best tequila winner Ocho and Hacien, also made with blue agave, as well as other premium brands.

Featured Mezcal brands include Don Amado, Cimarron, and Picaflor. Made-to-order QuiQuiRiQui will also be featured.

East London neighbourhood boozer the Leytonstone Tavern will provide the event’s tacos, with vegan and meaty options available. These include last year’s crowd pleasers such charred cauliflower and achiote pulled pork.

Also look out for the pub’s chilli sausage croquetas with lime aioli and loaded nachos.

DJs will bring the party vibes all weekend long, with south London DJs including Stevie Wonderland, Tropic Selections and Off The Record.

Tickets start from £11.00, and the earlier you enter, the cheaper they are. Group tickets are also available.

Tequila Town runs Friday, August 25 from 5.30pm-10.30pm; Saturday, August 26 from 12.30pm to 10.30pm; Sunday, August 27, 12.30pm to 10.30pm.
