A man who was found collapsed in a main road in Barking has been taken to hospital.

Police officers were called at 7.50am today (Tuesday, June 27) to Longbridge Road at the junction with Westrow Road.

London Ambulance Service attended the scene and the man was taken to hospital.

The Met Police said that they await information on his condition.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and bus routes 5, 145, EL2 and EL3 were put on detours.

According to AA maps, the road has now been reopened.

Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
