Following a competition held across the two sites, the winners of four age categories are now enjoying having their work on show after being chosen by NHS staff.

Yevai Benyure topped the teenagers’ section with her space-inspired crown design.

“I wanted to capture all the qualities of the NHS,” Yevai said. “The earth represents nurses and doctors across the world and the Union Jack is to thank NHS staff in the UK.”

Blossom Barnes won age group one to five with her drawing of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Amelia Yeomans won ages six to nine with her “nanny” working in the children’s wards as a play worker.

Sehar Saeed won the 10 to 12 age group with her Coronation crown and drawings of heart-beat rhythm graphs.

Chief nurse Kathryn Halford said: “It was clear to see how much time they spent on such a variety of designs.”

The competition was one of several Coronation events held at the hospitals, including prizes for the best decorated ward.
