Havering is popular for its variety of takeaway restaurants and food outlets.

A Harold Hill restaurant, Kervan Savay, was named the best takeaway in London in March at this year’s British Kebab Awards.

Most are rated highly for their standards in food hygiene, but there are a few that are not.

If you plan to celebrate a lazy Sunday at home, ordering some food in to share with your friends and family, we have news for you.

We looked at the Food Standard’s Agency website to find out which takeaways in the borough need improvement on the food hygiene front.

These ratings, notably, are not a testament to the quality of food, customer service, culinary skills of the makers, presentation of food and comfort of the venue.

They only take into account factors like handling, storing and preparing of food, cleanliness of facilities and how food safety in managed on the premises.

In some cases, the concerns raised by the food inspector is dealt with by the food outlet within a given period of time and their rating is changed back to a higher one. So, these ratings can be subject to changes in the future and does not imply that the outlet will perform in the future.

Four names were found on the list, out of which one outlet, Crust Pizza, is now permanently closed.

Takeaways with “One” hygiene rating that need “Major Improvement” as per FSA currently:
