But neighbours Ilford bowed out of the competition after falling to a slender defeat at Coggeshall Town.

Essex Senior League table toppers Woodford – unbeaten in nine matches – took the lead against their Thurlow Nunn League rivals on 20 minutes through Nathan Sollosi, as he was played in on the right and found the bottom corner of the net.

And Sollosi struck again on the half-hour mark, dinking the ball over the Enfield keeper after a perfect through ball from Alexandru Bolovan.

It was 3-0 before the hour mark as Kahlil Kirwan-Meade got in on the act, with Sam Sollosi making way for Oscar Onuorah in the first change of the night soon after.

Patrick Clarke and debutant David Gokou replaced Nathan Sollosi and Luke Parrott in a double substitution midway through the second half and Onuorah added a fourth with a quarter of an hour remaining, running onto a ball over the top of the visiting defence and passing it beyond the advancing keeper to find the corner.

Onuorah smashed home a fifth in the first minute of injury time, before a stunning effort in the fourth minute sealed a 6-0 victory and a place in the hat for the first round next month.

Boss Shane Baptiste posted: “Good professional performance tonight. Happy to progress into next round. Wish @EnfieldBoroFC all the best for your season.

“Massive thanks to our fans tonight,  excellent support like always. Our 12th man.”

Ilford travelled to Coggeshall with only one win in eight league outings so far this season.

And they fell behind midway through the first half when the Seedgrowers netted from the penalty spot.

The Foxes had fought back from 4-0 down to take a point from a 4-4 draw at FC Clacton last weekend and missed a great chance to level on 53 minutes.

The hosts hit the post moments later, though, before Harry Rawlins was denied by a great save on 71 minutes.

Rawlins went round the keeper two minutes from time and cut the ball back, but a defender got back to block as the scoreline remained unchanged.

Frenford travel to Brantham Athletic on Saturday, while Barkingside host Hadleigh United and May & Baker entertain West Essex on Sunday.

Clapton Community visit Brimsdown in Thurlow Nunn League Division One South, as Clapton welcome St Margaretsbury, Hutton host Benfleet and Tower Hamlets take on Newbury Forest at Mile End Stadium.
