London Fire Bridgade (LFB) officers tackled a grass fire on Ingrebourne Hill in Rainham on Tuesday (September 5).
LFB was called at 5.13pm and two fire engines from Wennington and Dagenham stations attended the scene.
An area of 100sq m was alight, it said.
This comes amid a spell of hot weather, with London temperatures expected to rise from 30 degrees today to 32 on Saturday (September 9).
A LFB spokesperson said: “We are asking Londoners to help us protect the city we all love during this hot spell of weather by doing everything you can to prevent further grass fires.
“Please don’t barbecue in open spaces or balconies, throw your rubbish away safely and put your cigarettes out properly.”
